According to the translator,
Mauban means gray-headed. Nothing gray about our God directed mission/adventure in Mauban, Quezon, it was as colorful as the rainbow.
Southern Luzon – we started in Tagaytay, look at all the towns we passed through.
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation…”
2nd Pit stop when we entered Quezon through Tiaong. Golden arches everywhere…Nenita & Madel ham it up.
Tight squeeze…Emmanuel a.ka. M2 (in the middle) asks “Are we there yet?”
Yes we are! Welcome to Mauban!!!
First stop in Mauban!
For 2 nights, we stayed at that house to the left.
The streets were narrow…
Our hosts, Madel, Izen, & Maricris with the two little ones, Emmanuel & Sophia.
“Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.”
Not exactly Galilee, but one of the divine appointment the Lord had prepared was a family whose make up and livelihood was similar to that of Simon (Peter) & Andrew.
Storefront facing the street, the otherside is Lamon Bay.
Household # 1 who received the truth of the Gospel in Jesus Christ.
Because of the Lord and your prayers…”And how are they to preach unless they are sent…”
The Gospel shared along the seawall/boardwalk of Mauban.
Stretch of coastline
Have you heard?
In moments like these…
As we walked along the boardwalk, these folks welcomed us into their home to hear of the love of God.
Off to Rosario…
Dariel navigated us safely onto shore.
Nenita by the lake, waiting for high-tide.
Ed, Madel’s father welcomed us wholeheartedly.
A farmers helper, the carabao.
Typical home. Electricity for the area does not kick in till 6 PM, shuts down at 10 PM.
Household # 2 – Marina, Ed, & Nenita discuss dinner…which is anytime after lunch 🙂
Alakan from the “sa-sa” plant, a source of income.
after harvesting the rice grain, drying time…
Edmar & Brian drying the “palay.”
High tide came, JR was the lone rower, the advantage of youth.
“I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf…”
The semester is coming to a close…May 29 is graduation day and we have the value of one in JR.
Only God can grow the fruit of righteousness through His Word. In the end, the question will be asked, “ Were you faithful in the one I put in front of you?”
“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?”
…the 85 year old woman from Mauban?
The five year old girl waiting in a tricycle…
…even the 7 year old boy doing his own thing on a table?
Only God can make a tree, what becomes of JR is up to Him.
JR and Minor Prophets project
As far as I can say, we did what we were called to do and are being poured unto Him the life and the truth that is found in His Word. The hope we have is that at the end of our life, we are welcomed with these words, “
Well done good and faithful servant…”
What about you? at the end of the day, will you be found faithful?
“…pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ…”
