Value of one

What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Luke 15:4,5

“The value of one…”

Baptism of one

Baptism of one

Be in prayer for the “what next” of God as that day approaches…

Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time.”

Going home to die…

A person who has Christ as his Master is the master of his circumstances.

Is your situation pressing in on you?

Do not push it away, for they are from the Potter’s hands. You will learn to master them not by stopping its progress, but by enduring through its discipline. Your circumstances are not only shaping you into a vessel of beauty and honor, but also providing you with great resources of value. *
Peter

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power might be of God, and NOT OF US. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in this body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.” **

For us missionaries, Paul’s confession becomes real life experience day by day, by His grace. Once they were “just facts” of the Bible, and received as God’s truth. But now, we are learning to reckon them as “His truth,” yet ours, for we get to experience them on a daily basis. NHS 3By His grace we can make this our own confession. Paul’s truth has been made personal to us through the difficulties that serve as His faith tests.

Reading through the end of chapter 4 and continuing on Chapter 5:1- 9, the truth that a Christian’s life is a “walk by faith and not by sight,” becomes a reality we share with one another in the mission field. It is a daily walk with our Lord Jesus, relying only on Him to provide everything that is needed to build “His house.”

Loving Him, so we may continue loving others.

In this we labor, going and telling the world that is lost in its faith translation, explaining to every man and teaching every man the Jesus who is both the Son of God and the Son of Man, the God-man who so loved the world…that He gave…”for the love of Christ constrains us.”

What now?

What do you do when you are in dire straits? A place we call “between a rock and a hard place.” When trying times hit you, when rain pours without letting up…do you? orrr…do you do?

1. NOTHING!
How hard is it to figure this one out? Simply do not act. Never make a decision when cobwebs are in your mind. When we put things in our hands, the likelihood of making matters worst is highly probable.

Sit things out. Take slow, deep breaths. Allow your nerves to settle. Separate yourself from all forms of noises. You will be the wiser for it.20130806-153830.jpg
Therefore, since these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rashly.” Acts 19:36

2. PRAY!

Most of the time, praying is the last thing on our mind when we occupied with worries. We are thinking of the next step, how to do things, or where to go.100_7642

As hard as it can be at times, praying is the best weapon we can wield in times of doubt. To pray at all times is the one discipline we all tend to disregard but needs to be our best defense. Regardless of your situation, talking to God about your present chaos, confusion, struggle or whatever you find yourself into, is the best move to make.

For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You, In a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters, They shall not come near him.” Psalm 32:6

3. BE!

Being still is not a usual affection for us. We come into this world expected to make noise. A newborn’s first encounter with the world is not a gentle welcome, but a slap on the butt. Crying is the first sign of life.

Noise becomes the norm. Action seems to be the answer for everything. The days of quiet strolls, leisurely walks in the park, weekend picnics with friends, Sundays with family, these are slowly coming to an end. Yet, it is in thoughtful exercises that our minds are sharpened. Being, is a lost art.

…In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. But you would not….” Isaiah 30:17

4. WAIT! Silently. God who began a good work in you will complete what He started. He doesn’t rush, He is the Owner of time. What is your hurry?
Wait
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.” Psalm 62:5

Between Us

I was awake at 1:30 am and surprised that He did wake me early to call on Him. I was just crying out to him about the natural uncertainty of things as I got to think about a lot of things, started to wonder how you will get here, the funds for the shipping, the house, the building and all…

It’s the peripheral expenses: fencing and taxes (for the property), registration, and the list went on…parading. Then the forgotten failure, of why and how the plan is now as it is…It is okay…you do not need to reply, it is my way of sounding off….

Reading my dearest’s note left for me on Skype, my heart sank and remembered the failures of my past. The should have’s, could have’s, began to flood my mind instantly. But God, who is faithful, and through His finished work in Christ Jesus, quickly reminded me that He is making a “new thing” in our lives.

How apt is it that through Colossians 3:2-3 where He says, “Set your mind on things above, not on the things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God,” is part of our Bible study this week. Such an encouragement could not come at all from the wisdom of men but from the heart of our Father in heaven.

Throughout the day, the Holy Spirit brings back to remembrance the beauty of His Word. He did through His written word and even through the radio. It would be easy for one such as I to fall into the trap of self pity, the Lord did not want me to take part in such thoughts. (Philippians 4:4-6)

Am I to look at the provision that is to come, or shall I look to Him? “To behold His beauty…(Psalm 27:4)” The answer is clear, He deserves nothing less than complete obedience to Him and Him alone. He knows what we need even before we ask Him (Matthew 6:8). He is growing me and my Nenita for His glory (John 14:13) for the work He has prepared for us.

Late this afternoon, Pastor Chuck Smith was on Acts 23:11, where he reminded me of when Paul was put in the barracks and when all seemed lost for the cause of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Lord stood by him, and said, “Be of good cheer (be of good courage)…”

James reminds us that, “…count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4. Praise the Lord.

Thank you Lord, that You are always with us. (Romans 8:28-39)

I love You Lord.

Thank You for the love Nenita and I have in You.

Going where He sends.

Twenty years ago, Nenita left everything that mattered to her to obey her Lord. She left mother, father, brothers, land and most of all, her two sons and adopted daughter to follow Jesus. Against all the odds, God showed Himself mighty, faithful and true.

Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you… and you will be a blessing to others. Gen. 12:1-2

“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.” John 15:16.

Who would have thought that Nenita would be returning to the Philippines as a sent-one, a servant to be poured out for the work of her Master? In the first place, it never occurred to her that she would go back at all? She goes where He sends…My Father’s House Bible College, Tagaytay City, Philippines.

A new work. The same Lord.
