…winding down Summer 2018…
Can it be realized any other way, the enormity and connectivity of the family of God? The journey of discovery began on October 27, 2016.
After a quadruple heart bypass on May 28, I was ever so thankful to God for His prayer for the people He surrounds me with, beginning with my wife, our children, doctors, and nurses, all by His appointment. In the days that followed prior to my discharge from the hospital, I had this longing to go on a long vacation and travel back to California.
To be rested…refreshed. To see family…friends. Maybe all of the above. This is that journey, one filled with relief, joy, and thankfulness with the people the Lord has used the last seven months…much like the lesson in faith I have been blessed to experience because of God’s faithfulness.
Not only that, He included stops to visit family in Folsom up in Northern California…
A stint at Lone Mountain in Las Vegas, Nevada…
Enjoying more snow with Nenita, Kim, and Dave, while dropping in on “The Second Chance Ranch” fellowship in Cascade, Montana…
To top it all off He brought us to parts of the “Great White North“(a.k.a.Canada), which included the flat plains of Grande Prairie where we got to to do a Couple’s Bible Study with our son and his wife…
Drove cross-country to behold God’s work through the views of Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise (included driving in snow), and of course Salmon Arm in Vancouver.Yes, the people, the experiences and destinations my wife and I got to visit, are proof that God’s family is ever growing and full of beauty. Imagine the opportunity I would have missed had we not taken the first step.
Do you ever take the time to thank God for all that He gives you? The Bible is filled with reasons and occassions to thank the Lord…
Thanksgiving 2016 is here, not many months back, only the Lord knew if this day would come for me. I do thank You Lord Jesus for working in my life beginning with my wife, our children from the oldest to the youngest, our grandchildren, family and church family whom You have used to express the beauty of Your holiness and faithfulness.
Yes, another year passed, You O Lord for these whom you have used in my life! Thank You God for…
Psalm 52:9 I will thank You forever, because You have done it. I will wait for Your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.
Psalm 118:21 I thank You that You have answered me and have become my salvation.
John 11:41b “…And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.”
Philippians 1:3 I thank my God in all my remembrance of you…
1Thessalonians 2:13 And we also thank God constantly for this…which is at work in you believers.
1Timothy 1:12 I thank Him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He judged me faithful, appointing me to his service
There are many others yet to grace the pages of this blog, press on dear saints. Let us give thanks to God from Whom all blessings flow!!!
2Timothy 1:3 I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors…as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day.
“…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
“…His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.'”
October, 26 months since August 1, 2012, the day Nenita arrived in CALABARZON. We had discussed the possibility of her visiting California…

December 16, MFHBC Christmas gathering with students Cathy & Julius.
– email received from Jed from Folsom that evening…”Nenita, I left you a message on fb, but in case you did not get it, please check your…account. An anonymous person deposited…They hope it will help you come to California. They realize you might have to use it elsewhere, but they felt led by God for you to have it! Praise the Lord! I will write you soon to tell you how we are doing and to check in. Love you guys! J & P”
“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.”

“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1:9
Is your situation pressing in on you?
Do not push it away, for they are from the Potter’s hands. You will learn to master them not by stopping its progress, but by enduring through its discipline. Your circumstances are not only shaping you into a vessel of beauty and honor, but also providing you with great resources of value. *
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power might be of God, and NOT OF US. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in this body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.” **
For us missionaries, Paul’s confession becomes real life experience day by day, by His grace. Once they were “just facts” of the Bible, and received as God’s truth. But now, we are learning to reckon them as “His truth,” yet ours, for we get to experience them on a daily basis. By His grace we can make this our own confession. Paul’s truth has been made personal to us through the difficulties that serve as His faith tests.
Reading through the end of chapter 4 and continuing on Chapter 5:1- 9, the truth that a Christian’s life is a “walk by faith and not by sight,” becomes a reality we share with one another in the mission field. It is a daily walk with our Lord Jesus, relying only on Him to provide everything that is needed to build “His house.”
Loving Him, so we may continue loving others.
In this we labor, going and telling the world that is lost in its faith translation, explaining to every man and teaching every man the Jesus who is both the Son of God and the Son of Man, the God-man who so loved the world…that He gave…”for the love of Christ constrains us.”
