“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
Nearly fifteen years ago, little did I realize that a mission outreach across the border to Mexico would lead us back to the Philippines. The question had been asked by family and friends, both here and there why we would leave the comforts of the United States of America, when God calls, it is unmistakable that even the preparation of us going into the field of missions is His doing. “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.”
And so here we are, my name is Rizty and along with my wife Nenita, we get to serve Jesus Christ at His good pleasure. After years of being taught under Pastor Chuck Smith, the Lord deemed it necessary to put the teaching I received into practice, which is in large part we are in the mission field. Nenita is an alumnus of Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta Hot Springs in California and serves tirelessly by my side. The reality of Colossians 1:28 continues to be revealed to us for God’s glory. This is succinctly exemplified by these words when asked the Why we were going to the mission field, “I’m going home to die!” were the words that came from Nenita’s lips. Truly, more of Him, less of us.
“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.”
