On the Road…

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “LORD, who has believed our report?” So then faith comesby hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:16-17

We got to do a call out at Corona International Christian Fellowship on May 20th. They were receptive and willing to be in prayer and in sharing the mission the Lord has given us. The fellowship is composed of Filipino-Americans.

Just as the Lord had given us clarity that Filipino’s will play a big part in this work of His, so it has been clear that we have been given the opportunity to share just that. To share the vision with the brethren has been an awesome privilege. It was no different that Sunday morning.

Met sisters in the Lord. Look at those lovely smiling faces.

Caught up with old friends from CC Bible College and a fellow GFA volunteer Michael Favela.

See those hands lifted up? “Here am I… send me!”

A little church with a big and ready heart.

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
Matthew 9:36

In Metro-Manila, and in places the Gospel is shared in the Philippines, people receive it readily, but often, they are left without a church family to help them grow. They are left as orphans; they do not grow beyond their salvation. These we refer to as the “unreached-reached” people group.

Many do not get to experience the joy of sanctification and service, making them fair game to the false teachings that surround them.

This is the heart of My Father’s House Bible College, that our Filipino brethren may be duly equipped in the Word of God. That they would experience the joy of fully knowing Him, and making Him known. Just as we have known Him.

That these “unreached-reached” will be brought the whole counsel of God by native missionaries, and no longer be tossed to and fro by the false doctrines that run rampant in their midst. Be in prayer that the Lord will raise faithful Filipino church planters to come alongside His good work.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Descanso Retreat

What a delightful Mother’s Day treat it was. Descanso Park takes you to a piece of God’s heaven on earth. Who says it’s not possible to find solace in the midst of noises that surround bustling and chaotic LA and its burbs? Come on in… Every garden walk begins with an arbor entrance such as this one leading you to the fragrant blossoms of a variety of roses from many places. The Rose Garden.

Our Father takes pleasure in blessing all His children. It is His delight to surprise us as we learn to surrender every little thing to His care. Such was this day. It was truly a God walk, exploring all the breath-taking flowers and fauna in a variety of gardens. Follow us as we followed His steps at Descanso.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Psalm 34:8.

Finding ourselves lost in the grandeur of His landscape, we paused for a moment in these Ebenezer seats offered by the “The Fern Gully”. Imagining the many or the few who had preceded us and pondering the same reverential thoughts of our Creator may allow you to consider how you can be His tool in the work of building His kingdom.

“Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these”. Matt 6:29

In this case, we have ponds draped with water lilies, also known as lotus flowers, in many parts of the terrain. When God says to observe, He really means to inspect, to look upon, to behold, give attention to, or watch carefully. The Hebrew word is “derek” which literally means road, way, or journey. The Christ-life is a going, a walking. Moment by moment. Everyday with Jesus is a nice and steady walking. It is a walk on the clouds.

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the ways of the ungodly…but his delight is in the law of the Lord.” Psalm 1:1a

“The grass withers and the flower fades but the Word of God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8.

Frolicking and lying down to the bed of Camella blooms seemed like a very good thing to do. The Camella Garden or better yet, The Camella Road. The path covered with bright pink petals is a reminder of God’s faithfulness. We should not be too busy to enjoy the handiwork that surrounds us. God our Creator calls us to a rest.

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Make time to smell the flowers.

Going where He sends.

Twenty years ago, Nenita left everything that mattered to her to obey her Lord. She left mother, father, brothers, land and most of all, her two sons and adopted daughter to follow Jesus. Against all the odds, God showed Himself mighty, faithful and true.

Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you… and you will be a blessing to others. Gen. 12:1-2

“You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.” John 15:16.

Who would have thought that Nenita would be returning to the Philippines as a sent-one, a servant to be poured out for the work of her Master? In the first place, it never occurred to her that she would go back at all? She goes where He sends…My Father’s House Bible College, Tagaytay City, Philippines.

A new work. The same Lord.

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times? Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
Matthew 18:21-22

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:25-26

Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
Luke 6:36-38

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14-15

Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.
Luke 17:3-4

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
Luke 23:34

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1John 1:9

How to pray begins in praying.

The unreached-reached peoples of the Philippines await the gentle love of the Father in Jesus. Won’t you pray for their awakening…

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3John 1:2

  • Our health insurance is God. We ask that we be kept from all manners of physical attacks.
  • For our bones to be strong, our muscles to be flexible and our nerves to be steady and stable.
  • For our emotions to keep joyful, our minds to be peaceful, our ears to be alert, our eyes to stay bright, and for our hearts to be pumping at steady pace always.

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy…” Jude 1:24

“…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete [it] until the day of Jesus Christ…” Phil 1:6

That the Christ life may be exhibited in us, through us and for us in all things! That whatever we do in word and deed, it will be done in in the name of our Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him….EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Pray always…

And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen [do]. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
Matthew 6:5-8

Don’t know how to begin?

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.Romans 8:26

…I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting…1Timothy2:8

If you build it they will come…

Do you remember the movie “Field of Dreams”? It is now perhaps one of America’s baseball movie classics.

The main character, a farmer, receives a vision about building a baseball field on his corn field. The farm is threatened with foreclosure by the bank. His brother urges him to sell it. During this time, he sees visions of his father who was once a baseball player?

Kevin Costner plays the lead role and in one of his visions, a very compelling line was uttered by a voice saying, “If you build it, he will come.” This leads him to build a baseball field in his corn field. Ghosts, or not, of baseball’s glory days dating back to the 1900’s play on the field. One of them ask,”Is this heaven?” to which he replies, “No, Iowa.”

The movie is touching and full of “could’ves and should’ve’s,” and then the message of redeeming the time.

The difference between that story, and the reality of being part of starting a Bible College in the Philippines, is that we know the voice who is leading us, God. We get to be part of something beautiful, teaching the Word of God.

What we are called to do is to build a place where the whole counsel of God is taught to the Filipinos. The only ghost here is the Holy Spirit. There will be challenges, but in the words of Pastor Chuck Smith, “Where God guides, He provides.”

As we become part of the building process, we get to simply stand back and watch God do the increase of students and disciples of Jesus Christ.

As He builds it, they will come.

Are you ready to be a part of this work?

It is time to arise.  Please pray that we will stay faithful and ask God how you can prayerfully and/or financially join us in this exciting adventure. Remember that no gift is too small in Him.

“…So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work.
Nehemiah 2:18

Encouraged by GFA

“Thank you so much for your email. It is wonderful to hear how the Lord has been working in your life. Thank you for your years of faithful service to our Lord. I am happy to write a recommendation for you both:

Rizty and Nenita have served as volunteers for Gospel for Asia for over six years. Our ministry has been so blessed by their zeal for the Lord Jesus and their tireless efforts to be a voice for the unreached. Faithfully, they have worked to inform the body of Christ about two billion people living on earth who have yet to hear His name. They constantly sacrificed their weekends and vacation times to work a GFA booth or other event, for no earthly reward whatsoever. Rizty and Nenita don’t just claim to have a passion for lost souls, reaching the lost is truly all that they talk about and live for. Please consider helping them in this endeavor to reach their own people in the Philippines and teach God’s Word.

Dr. K. P. Yohannan

May the Lord continue to lead and guide you both in all you do. We are praying for you.

In His grace,

May is here

Time goes by so quickly…so many souls, so little time.

How many have you led to Jesus Christ in the last week, or since the last time you visited us?

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
Romans 1:16
